Workforce Management (WFM) - What does it mean?

The first myth is that this is 'Time and Attendance'. This is not correct.

Compliance Management / Service Level Management - What does it mean?

Let's dispell another myth - it is not a guard tour solution or just a helpdesk.

Fundamentally, contracts for a service contain a Service Level Agreement (SLA). These can be hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or any other determined frequency and indeed, infrequent or ad-hoc. It might be a daily office clean or it might be a requirement to turn a helpdesk job around in 30 minutes. The important thing is to remember to have the tools to see issues as they arise. There are some easy considerations for which SLA tools should be selected;

  • How short are the SLA times?
  • How many SLAs are there
  • How often do I need to report on the SLAs?
  • Can I and should I try to do this in Excel, on paper or some other equally inept solution?
  • How many times does the data get handled?
  • How much does that excessive handling cost me?
  • How accurate will multiple handling of data be?
  • Will my client trust my reports?

 

The better question is;

  • Why am I not using trusted well established tools that the leading facilities management suppliers use every day?
