What is Vetting?

The overhead of managing multiple background checks and vetting standards is as big as it’s ever been.

Clients have internal standards plus there are multiple industry requirements and - to complicate the challenge further - you still have minimum legal requirements to adhere to.

Timegate’s Recruitment Pack can be implanted into an organisation with little disruption and drive up compliance with all of these complex requirements.

Complex vetting operations

A vital process that needs to be done absolutely correctly, vetting staff prior to employment can be extremely complex. Timegate provides a reduction in time and motion on this intense business process.

Driving compliance with data protection and confidentiality obligations, Timegate’s Recruitment Pack delivers control and transparency to what is a high risk business function. Making the complex simple, Timegate delivers all that is required for a compliant vetting process.

Costs and risks of failed processes

Employers are responsible for making the necessary document checks, even if they think a potential worker has the right to work in the UK. It is vital for the employer’s own protection to keep a record and copy of documents that have been checked.

If a company is found to be employing illegal migrant workers and has not established a ‘statutory excuse’, they may have to pay a civil penalty of up to £10,000 per illegal migrant worker*.

There is also the risk of being prosecuted for the offence of knowingly employing an illegal migrant worker. Conviction for this offence can incur an unlimited fine and/or a prison sentence of up to two years.

Addressing legal obligations to check that a potential employee has the right to work in the UK, Timegate can be configured to check potential employees against any other standard(s) required. Collecting, collating and storing key documentation, Timegate provides immediate confirmation that recruitment and placement on contract can proceed.

*Based on UK Law.
